When you enquire about work, whether through our website, a Facebook or Instagram lead form, phone, email or in person, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- The address of the property the work relates to
- Details of the work you are enquiring about, including any photos, drawings or plans you send us
If you become a customer, we also collect:
- Billing details and payment records
- Correspondence about your project
- Photographs of the work in progress and once complete
- Any documents needed for the job, such as planning or building control paperwork
When you visit our website, we may collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type and how you use the site. See the cookies section below.
We do not ask for or need any special category data, such as health information. Please do not send it to us.
WHY WE USE IT AND OUR LEGAL BASIS
- To respond to your enquiry, arrange a site visit and prepare a quote. Legal basis: legitimate interests, because we cannot answer an enquiry without contacting you.
- To carry out work you have engaged us to do, including invoicing. Legal basis: performance of a contract with you.
- To keep records of jobs, quotes and payments. Legal basis: legal obligation, including tax and accounting requirements.
- To deal with complaints, warranty claims or disputes. Legal basis: legitimate interests and legal obligation.
- To keep health and safety records relating to a site. Legal basis: legal obligation.
- To send you marketing emails or messages about our services. Legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To use photographs of completed work in our marketing. Legal basis: consent, which we will ask for separately.
If you enquire and decide not to go ahead, we will not add you to any marketing list unless you have specifically agreed to it.
WHO WE SHARE IT WITH
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
We do share it with a small number of suppliers who help us run the business, and only as far as they need it:
- Our accountant and accounting software provider
- Our email, phone and file storage providers
- Subcontractors and suppliers working on your project, where they need your address or contact details to do the work
- Architects, structural engineers, surveyors or building control, where your project requires it
- Meta Platforms, where you have submitted a lead form on Facebook or Instagram
- Our insurers and, if it ever became necessary, our legal advisers
We may also disclose information where we are required to by law.
WHERE YOUR INFORMATION IS HELD
Your information is stored in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area wherever possible. Some of our software providers store data in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the safeguards required under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.
HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
- Enquiries that do not become work: up to 12 months from your last contact with us, then deleted.
- Quotes that are not accepted: up to 2 years.
- Customer and project records: 6 years after the work is completed, to cover our legal, tax and warranty obligations. Some construction records may be kept longer where building safety or structural liability periods apply.
- Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe or ask us to stop.
YOUR RIGHTS
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your information, where we are not required to keep it
- Ask us to restrict how we use it
- Object to us using it on the basis of legitimate interests
- Ask us to transfer it to another provider, in some circumstances
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we relied on consent

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, by calling 0303 123 1113, or by writing to Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
MARKETING
If you have agreed to receive marketing from us, you can opt out at any time by replying STOP to a message, clicking unsubscribe in an email, or emailing info@arklinedevelopments.com . Opting out of marketing does not affect messages about work we are already doing for you.

Our website uses cookies. Essential cookies keep the site working. Analytics and advertising cookies, including the Meta Pixel where we use it, help us understand how people find us and how our adverts perform. You can accept or reject non-essential cookies through the banner on our site, and you can clear or block cookies through your browser settings at any time.
FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM LEAD FORMS
If you submit an enquiry through one of our adverts on Facebook or Instagram, Meta passes your details to us so we can contact you about your enquiry. Meta also processes that information under its own privacy policy, which you can read at facebook.com/privacy/policy.
